Dietary Fibers (Roughage) :
The fibrous indigestible material present in our food is called Roughage. Roughage neither provides energy, like carbohydrates and fats, nor builds our body, like proteins. However, it is an important component of our food. Roughage help us in following ways :
The main source of roughage in human food are salad, vegetables and fruits, corn , unpeeled apple, half - crushed wheat(Dalia).
